Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game released in 2001 originally released for the PS2. Developed Team Silent Hill and published by Konami. In 2002 it was ported to windows and re-released to the PS2 as a "greatest hits", as well as a release to the Xbox.

The second game in the series, it follows a unique storyline of its own. Focused on the psychology of its characters, compared to the occult narrative of the first game. James Sunderland, a widower, recevies a letter from his late wife. In the letter it states he can find her in Silent Hill, their special place.

A remake of Silent Hill 2 is currently in the works, release date TBA.
